I couldn't be more excited today if I had won an award or had become a best-selling author. Such things leave me stunned and uncomfortable. The most you might get out of me is a leery sigh of relief.
But not today. I'm brimming with excitement.
After plucking, punching, and pulling on a heavy-laden plot, today, I start my final draft on book two.
I know, I know. I should be excited at the end of a book. Isn't everybody? Not me. And I accept that it may not be 'spiritually correct' to be so, according to Ecclesiastes 7:8, where it tells me the end of a thing is better than the beginning. But days like today are the ones I relish the most.
I felt the Lord grinning at me with this morning's scripture:
"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
John 7:38
Hot dog! Happy dance! God is talkin-ta-me! Not only with this scripture that I've held to my heart to keep up my writing courage for years, but in a call from my hubby who wanted to pray over me because he knows how excited I was. And he called as I was just about to push the share button on Instagram. Well, that messed me up. I was in tears.
So now, I wonder if all of heaven is leaning over the rail rejoicing in me and you whenever you plow through the adversity of life to offer your gifts:
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,"
Hebrews 12:1
Well, that settles it, so don't just stand there. Pick up your plow, your passion, your gifts to bring as an offering to God.
Let us commence!
